With the Port of Seattle’s comprehensive Environmental and Sustainability program, they had a unique opportunity to not only showcase the changes they have already implemented but to also highlight the dynamic work currently underway and on the horizon. Central to this journey are bold initiatives in decarbonization and habitat restoration. These efforts are not merely aspirations for a greener future; they are active changes shaping our world today.
To increase awareness of their mission, work, and progress with their target demographic (King County constituents, regional environmental community, and industry peers), they needed to make a splash in time for the Bloomberg Green Festival in July 2024 and beyond.

In evaluation of the Port of Seattle’s environment and sustainability efforts, their “Sea Change” platform, and their larger ambitions, we found the through line and gravity point across all they do—change. It’s common to correlate change with the future, but in truth, change is happening right now.
BnB had the fun challenge of building an awareness campaign for an organization that hadn’t done one yet, specifically on topics the audience doesn’t necessarily associate with the Port. We knew the audience has a generally positive perception of the Port, albeit with low intensity, and the environment is a top area of concern and interest. We explored three conceptual ways to express change differently landing on Progress in Motion—which included messaging a visual look and feel to best frame up their story of collective effort, a unified vision (seaport to airport), and the ripple effect the Port’s initiatives create for our environment and region. Placements included print, billboards, digital and social placements on YouTube and Meta, and a hero video designed to inform and inspire.
