THE OPPORTUNITY

One of Seattle’s fastest growing private agencies is on the hunt for a talented Managing Director.

The successful candidate will be a well-rounded leader, comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a fast-growing, digital-first business. They will be ambitious for the agency, entrepreneurial in spirit, and have a tight grip on execution. They will be able to lift the cadence of execution in the business and be prepared to take calculated risks helping the agency succeed in a highly competitive market. They will have a clear focus on our clients and use this as a mechanism to drive performance.

 

This person will be responsible for the oversight, optimization and growth of all account and operational functions at the agency including taking a leadership role on business development with both incumbent and net new clients. They will play a key role in setting and elevating the company culture and creating an environment that supports both the strategic and creative vision for the agency.The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience as a Managing Director or similar role at a similar sized agency or brand. They are an experienced leader, who can relate and motivate our C-suite level clients and provide mentorship and guidance to our internal team members in order to help forward their professional growth.

 

The Managing Director will report to the CEO of the company and, along with the BnB Leadership Team, will be responsible for the growth and overall performance of the business.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintaining a Strong Team Culture

  • Maintains communications with senior members of other departments to ensure all client needs are being addressed
  • Manages needs of team members to maximize learning and productivity while minimizing turnover
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills that encourages team cooperation, promotes enthusiasm, and motivates relationship-building
  • In collaboration with the CSO, provide leadership and mentorship to the Strategy team who are responsible for client management and development
  • Works in collaboration with the Leadership Team to continue to develop and define the company culture in order to make it an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring place to work
  • Supports the BnB D&I team on continued development of this important work and to infuse all we do at the company with both our D&I goals and vision in mind as well as our company values of Trust, Flexibility, Ownership, Hunger and Play

Building Operational Efficiencies and Effectiveness

  • Reviews and manages legal documentation such as SOW’s, MSAs, ICAs, etc. and identifies need for specialist support when required (e.g. legal)
  • Supports all resourcing initiatives in order to ensure both quality and profitability
  • SupportsHuman Resourcing requirements at the company from negotiating contracts, sourcing and onboarding new talent and clients, and handles ongoing internal HR needs in collaboration with both the CEO and CSO
  • Thinks collaboratively and leverages various disciplines in the agency to present client brand-building opportunities and agency-building initiatives

Growing Client Opportunities

  • Partner with CSO and client/project strategy leads in developing strong client relationships and business momentum
  • Grow our current book of business and take the lead on the beginning of our client relationships – sourcing, developing, bringing new clients into the agency, and onboarding
  • Understands client’s business beyond marketing and demonstrates the ability to monitor and evaluate the marketing industry as well as macro trends for both brand-building and thought leadership opportunities
  • Develops a more robust and effective Leavening Session practice at the company

  • Facilitate the development of deliverables for multichannel campaigns, such as strategic initiatives, brand development, digital campaigns, social content, and digital advertising
  • Partner with strategy, creative, and operations teams to create a vision for projects/campaigns and then take ownership over managing to fruition
  • Own resource management and strategy for dedicated accounts
